Senior Engineering Project Manager (2008 – 2017)
• Led a team of hardware/software engineers in the qualification and release of new storage products on Unisys enterprise class servers. Including the creation of test plans, test execution, product release criteria (Quality assurance), along with the release and integration of those products into the customers infrastructure.
• Primary Interface with OEM partners to determine product release strategy on Unisys Dorado servers. Worked closely with marketing and sales to determine product demand and develop a business case for the release of new storage products.
o EMC, Dell, DSI, STK/SUN/Oracle, Brocade, Intel
• Consulted with large Enterprise customers on migration strategies and infrastructure updates for disk and tape storage across the customer’s Data Centers.
• Coordinated the systems analysis of customer environments to address performance issues with new and existing products, often interfacing with both Unisys and our Partners engineering teams.
• Led team of highly technical engineers in the development and support of system I/O channel firmware (FIBRE & FICON) for storage devices utilizing Agile Development processes.
• Provided customer support for storage products
o Lead Engineering interface for level 3 support
• Utilized understanding of core internet technologies and networking to resolve product issues
o DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, mail transport, Brocade switches, SAN, NAS
• Designed & developed a Cloud based IOT application to track and modify the state of IOT devices utilizing AWS IOT, MySQL, DynamoDB, Lambda (with Python) along with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Javascript, jQuery – AJAX, HTML5).
• Qualified Dell EMC VMAX3 Disk Storage product for sale to customers starting in 2016. Coordinated Unisys and Dell EMC engineering activities to resolve product issues prior to release. Product was released for sale to customers on schedule, adding $50M in storage revenue for 2016.
• Reduced qualification schedule of storage products by an average of 33% by leveraging testing across multiple locations. Identified release criteria for EMC to provide products to Unisys for final qualification.
• Implemented process improvements, reducing customer reported issues with storage products by 25% by focusing testing on product features that were important to customers and most frequently used.
• Drove resolution of system boot failures reported by customers during Disaster Recover (DR) testing. Coordinated with both EMC and Unisys engineering to identify storage firmware and Host OS changes that were required to resolve the issue.
